These are extra Sturdy, thick, and reinforced around the toes, heel and ankle. My boots are well constructed and were easy to walk in too - no issue with the toe guard, shank or other parts of the boot poking me. I was able to comfortably tuck my motorcycle pants with foam shin guards into these and zip up. If it was raining I could probably wear riding pants over these boots to keep the rain out. Shockingly - These actually do vent pretty well - I could feel the air drawing out from under my arch and my back heel and out through the tiny vents on the back heel of the boot. Not sure how that is going to work if I wore these in the rain - how 'waterproof' these would really be..
